This past weekend was my FIRST ever Bridal Fair! I signed up to be a vendor at the Cleveland County Bridal Fair at Bella Oaks on March 3rd, and from the day I signed up until today it was WILD!
I had to design a prop and make that design become a reality! I honestly could not have done this without the help of so may people;
First I want to thank my AMAZING parents that told me to just go for it and told me to sign up, they have been so supportive of my career choice and they always have honest criticism and ideas to help my business grow.
While my assistant Kelly and I were waiting on my Client to arrive we decided to get a couple of shots of her in the Grain! Her outfit was flawless and the hat just topped it off! I love the color of the Grain and the dark green of Kelly's shirt, and the Sunny day made it just too perfect for words! Kelly is Perfection!
I know a lot of you have been seeing and reading about the Hobby Lobby and Michaels photo challenges, well me being the photography student that I am, I felt like this would be a wonderful learning experience for me.
We began our challenge at Michaels Craft Store in Mooresville, NC. My beautiful model, Kelly, helped me out with both of the challenges and she did an amazing job. I used flowers, greenery and the amazing lighting at Michaels to create stunning images.
The challenge is to create beautiful images in places that aren't normally considered beautiful. I don't think I have ever had someone ask me to go take their portraits in a store of any kind, and when I recommend it they think I am loony! In my opinion, the backdrop makes the image, and as photographers we always look for beautiful backdrops to make our job "easy", but why not accept a little challenge and have some fun with it!
The second stop was at the very well known Hobby Lobby, and as most people know, Hobby Lobby has EVERYTHING and ANYTHING! I started this challenge in the floral section but I felt like Hobby Lobby had more to offer. I then made my way over to the greenery garland and then quickly over to the Frames! Once we finished with the Frame, which was so much fun, we needed to find a little more color so we quickly made it to the Paint and then to the fluffy feather scarves!
Hobby Lobby was a lot of fun but I will ALWAYS love Michaels a little bit more!

Everyone sang the title, don't be ashamed, we all know it! This sweet little boy was not a fan of the sweets at his Cake Smash but he did love the balloons! His momma sked me if we could make a mickey mouse themed cake smash and I was instantly excited! I am such a sucker for anything Disney! We made the banner, confetti, O-N-E sign and cake and bought some cute balloons to finish it off! I love how it turned out! I am ready to get this cake smash theme set up in the studio for a studio cake smash, I love in home sessions but I have a great idea for a studio set up!
Oh my goodness, time is flying with sweet baby Ansleigh. She is growing like a weed and is getting even more beautiful everyday. This sweet baby girl is already full of energy and she is going to give her poor momma a run for her money! This little princess was nothing but spectacular for her 3 month session and I got some of the most adorable portraits of her!
Today I met miss Raelynn. This sweet girl has gone through a lot her first couple months of life but she is the cutest princess, don't you agree! She was born as an itty bitty preemie and spent a few weeks in the NICU until she was absolutely perfect. I think she looks wonderful, she is growing and getting so big. In her portraits she is 2 months old, but for a 2 month old she was amazing. She wanted to be super nosy during the session but her lunch made her super sleepy. I am so happy I had the chance to photograph this sweet girl!
I met the most perfect little angel the other day. Hadley May was a head full of hair the sweetest sleeping beauty! I have worked with miss Hadley's mom for a while and I begged her to let me photograph Hadley when she arrived, because if she was anything as cute as her brother I knew she would be ADORABLE! Hadley loved being swaddled and fell asleep almost instantly! It took a few trick from her momma but once she was out, she made the most perfect baby model!
This couple has been though so much during their wedding planning, they had trouble with another photographer dropping out 2 months before their wedding, this is where our story begins! While I was at my first ever vendor even with Flashpoint Photography my booth was placed right next to Brittany's booth. She was selling her jewelry and out of no where asked me for my wedding prices, I was a caught a bit off guard but I quickly began to chat about my wedding packages. She told me all about her past experience with the other photographer and I reassured her I would not let her down!
A week after we talked, I was taking Brittany + Nathan's engagement portraits in this huge beautiful cotton field. The session was an absolute success. Everyone commented how amazing their engagement pictures turned out. Once the engagement session fun was over, we had a good break before Brittany's bridals session.
Brittany put her full trust in me when it came to her Bridal session location. She asked me for a rustic look and i went searching. I found the most perfect old rustic cabin with a few sheds and I knew that was the perfect location. Brittany was a little unsure but i think she was absolutely in love with how her session turned out. The old rundown shed mad an amazing rustic background as well as the beautiful grenn backyard with the large oak tree!
Finally, wedding day has arrived. Their day was so perfect in every way. I got there early in the morning and began capturing the detail shots and the "Getting Ready" portion of the day. It was a full morning of laughter and stress relieving. Once everyone was ready we had first looks with Nathan and Brittany's Father, then had the most taint ceremony. It was so simple and perfect. Everyone looked absolutely stunning and the ceremony was so smooth and perfect. After the ceremony the party began! The reception was on the same grounds as the church. They decided to have barbecue and cheer-wine, how DELICIOUS! The reception was set up very rustic and full of pictures of the two happy and in love. Overall, the wedding day was amazing and I think they enjoyed there special day! Here is to Happily Ever After! Love you two!
